Taerar No Match for All AM Raid
|
|
The dragon Taerar proved to be no match for an all AM raid. Bad timing Mr. Dragon when we are in the middle of Molten Core.
Faster than Glissade can say "get under the stairs young man!", we had a portal up to Duskwood, and had the dragon dead.
Not much in the way of phat lootz, but getting Taerar in an all AM raid for the first time was reward enough.
Not much AM in the screenie, as we had already made a portal, and were in hot pursuit of another dragon.

With great sacrifice comes great reward.
Thanks to everyone who put in the great sacrifices that made this kill possible. It would be easy to write about simply the night we killed C'thun, and how, on the 11th attempt of that night, and 33rd all together, we downed him.
It would be easy to write about the cheering in vent that woke spouses at 2AM, or even the joy it must be to hear your spouse cheer in delight just as you do.
It would be easy to brag about finally getting past the big boy in AQ.
It would be easy to write about phat lootz, and how cool those items are.
Instead, I am going to take a few moments, and share with you the sacrifices it takes to be able to experience all of those things.
It takes farming Maraudan for a month as people collect crappy nature resist gear so we can get past the roadblock that is Huhuran.
It takes thousands, yes thousands, of gold worth of consumables to get past the Twin Emps the first time. It takes Flasks of Titans, Major Mana Potions, Frost Resist Potions, Mageblood Potions, Blasted Lands buffs, ZG buffs, Brilliant Mana Oil, Dark Runes, and a ton of other stuff too long to list here.
It takes people spending dkp on items that offer no immediate reward, as they wait for us to eventually beat the Twins, and clear the epic trash after them so that we can get them their items.
It takes people waking at 7AM to clear BWL early so we have time to work on C'thun.
It takes people willing to stay up late on work nights as we try to progress in AQ.
It takes people willing to listen to constructive criticism so that we can all be better in wipe after wipe.
It takes mature people, who can handle other's mistakes and tell them that it is ok, to do better next time, and not get angry at them.
It takes mature people, willing to sit out when they have to, and just as willing to step up and step in when we need them without getting upset.
It takes a guild-wide effort to kill a god.
Well, AM, we did it. The hours upon hours spent in AQ finally pushed us to the top of that mountain last night. C'thun is dead. I could not be more proud of us. We stuck together, and kept pushing towards the top. We did it.
You are all the best.
Much love.
-Timothy

Week in Review: Our first taste of C'thun
|
|
The past week has certainly been an exciting one for Atrum Mortis. We finished our recruitment drive, and ended up with 7 completely outstanding new guild members out of the hundred or so applications we saw. A big AM welcome to our newest members.
On Saturday, we had our best Huhuran fight to date with only two people dieing during the fight. Talk about an absolute smashing of the bug. We followed that up by hitting buff city which included the ZG Island buff, Nefarian's Head buff, Darkmoon Fair buff, Blasted Lands buff, as well as other assorted goodies. We used these to take the Twin Emps by the neck, throttle them a bit, before finishing them off in a very gratifying one shot. To wrap up Saturday night, we were able to clear the trash leading to C'thun, and get three members new uber gear.
Finally, on the last day of the cycle for the week, we headed in for our first serious taste of C'thun tries. For those of you keeping score, C'thun is currently ahead 14-0, but it seemed like with every few attempts, things went smoother with the fight. To date, our best attempt was getting the big bloated eye down to 6% in stage one. Mind you, this is all without consumables as we learn the encounter. All in all, a very good night for people to learn what happens in the fight.
So, what does the immediate future hold for AM? Count on some serious work on C'thun in the upcoming week or two. I am sure we will add a raid day this week, and possibly next as we work hard to kill C'thun before the much anticipated patch comes out, and with it the monster instance of undead that is Nax.
Stay focussed Atrum Mortis. The best has just begun. C'thun will be dead soon enough, and we will begin our assualt on the evil bosses that Blizzard has in store for us in Nax.
Well done this week AM, well done.

Sometimes the stars simply line up...
About 30 minutes before our scheduled BWL raid, who should pop his ugly head up in Duskwood, but good ole' Lethon. Quicker than Galmorthal can tell you about pally dps, we assembled our raid and started to summon the people as they logged on.
With Dagame leading the charge, we buffed up and stormed down the hill to the green dragon below. After one hic-up, on our second try of the night, as Sons of Gabriel showed much class in cheering us on from the sidelines, we defeated the foul Lethon.
This marked the first time that Lethon has fallen to an all Atrum Mortis raid. Well done to all involved.
Oh yeah, of course......Phat Lootz:
Grats to Dagame on [Green Dragonskin Cloak]
Grats to Lenden on [Deviate Growth Cap]
Grats to Throwdown on [Malfurion's Signet Ring]
